The concepts are inspired by the book 101 Defenses: How the Mind Shields Itself by Jerome S. Blackman. 

In symbols, the opposition between reason and emotion is cancelled. In these illustrations I was trying to capture and visualize the symbolic images that the mind is functioning with from an intuitive perspective.
